Trout in the Classroom Program

The Grant County Conservation District offers the Trout in the Classroom program in Grant, Lincoln and Adams counties' schools.  The Trout in the Classroom program, established in 1991 by WDFW, was created as an educational project to encourage respect for water resources and promote responsible behavior towards the environment.

Our Trout in the Classroom programs provide:

  • All necessary equipment and technical assistance to raise trout;

  • Organized field trips

  • Aligns with the NGSS standards

  • Provides educational material for the classroom for extension learning.

If you currently have a tank and program or are interested in starting your own, please don't hesitate to contact Elliott DeLong, Environmental Educator at elliott-delong@conservewa.net. Elliott is available to help assist with your technical and curriculum needs.
